JAMES SCHEIDER IS A NYC-BASED MUSICIAN AND ACTOR.
Hailing from Seattle, Scheider has spent the last 12 years establishing himself as a multi-hyphenate, dynamic artist on the city’s stages and music venues. He holds residencies at Don’t Tell Mama, Uncle Charlie’s, and Mimi’s Italian Restaurant, three of New York’s well-known piano bars.
When James is not serenading or accompanying piano bar patrons, he works independently as a composer and music producer out of his home studio in upper Manhattan, Studio Bogardus. His compositions have been featured across a wide variety of platforms, from live on stage as the frontrunner of his band, James Scheider & the Ol’ So & So’s, to a web cooking series created during the pandemic.
James has traveled the world as part of the USO, a National Tour of the hit Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, and various other performance groups. He has performed in NYC and in regional theaters across the country, and when he is not on the road, James teaches music students out of Studio Bogardus, in a variety of instruments and disciplines.
He currently lives in upper Manhattan with his partner and feisty rescue tabby cat.
